With great pleasure, the Department of Energy Systems of the University of Thessaly welcomed its first-year students for the academic year 2025–2026 in an event held on Oct 16 2025 at the Department’s facilities in Larissa.

During the event, the Chair of the Department, Associate Professor Theodosios Theodosiou, welcomed the new students and presented the Department’s identity and vision. The Department is the first and only university department in Greece dedicated exclusively to Energy Systems. Prof. Theodosiou emphasized the importance of the energy transition and the role of young scientists in promoting sustainable development and innovation in the energy sector.

The event included presentations on:

• the undergraduate study program of the Department,
• the research activities and infrastructure (laboratories, collaborations with research centers and industry),
• and the career and academic development opportunities available to graduates.

The new students also had the opportunity to meet the academic staff, administrative personnel, and representatives of student organizations, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Department of Energy Systems wishes all new students a fruitful and creative academic journey, inspired by the values of collaboration, curiosity, and scientific excellence that define our academic community.
