Spyridon Kotsopoulos is Professor at the Department of Energy Systems of the University of Thessaly, with expertise in Water Resources Management. He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a PhD from the University of Southampton (UK), where his doctoral research focused on risk assessment and reliability of irrigation water delivery systems. He also holds a degree in Pedagogical Studies from ASPETE (former SELETE).<\/p>\n

He has extensive academic and research experience, having served as Associate Professor and Professor at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Larissa\/Thessaly, at the General Department of Larissa of the University of Thessaly, and since 2021 as Professor at the Department of Energy Systems. In parallel, he has long-standing involvement in applied research through national research institutes, including ELGO\u2013DIMITRA (former NAGREF), and has participated in numerous national and European research and development projects.<\/p>\n

His research interests cover a broad range of topics, including integrated water and energy resources management, hydrology, fluid mechanics, hydraulic and hydropower works, flood risk assessment, and the impacts of climate change on water systems. He has an extensive publication record in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and has contributed significantly to linking scientific research with real-world applications in agricultural, environmental, and energy systems.<\/p>\n

He is the Director of the officially established Laboratory of Water Resources Management, Energy and Fluid Mechanics at the Department of Energy Systems of the University of Thessaly. The Laboratory supports education, research, and applied studies in collaboration with public authorities and external stakeholders, strengthening the University\u2019s role in regional and national sustainable development.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
